Mission ”Lituanica 80” is the first stage of the long term program held by Kaunas University of Technology and Lithuanian Space Association. During the mission, a satellite will be launched into space. The satellite will not only be the first physical object in space carrying the Lithuanian symbolics, but will also serve as a scientific platform for the future scientific experiments with piezo motors in space.
Such an experiment has never been held before, and its successful outcome would open huge opportunities for numerous space programs around the world.
The mission “‘Lituanica 80” is dedicated for the 80th anniversary of the first legendary flight across the Atlantic ocean by two fearless Lithuanian pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas.
